Abstract

This research is aimed to examine whether there is difference of social adjustment between the student of accelerated class program and regular class. By using quantitative-comparative approach, the significant difference between the two variables would be obtained. The participants are 100 students of SMAN 5 Surabaya. The hypothesis is there is difference between students’ social adjustment of accelerated class program and regular class. Paired-samples t-test is used to prove the hypothesis of this study. The analysis of Paired-samples t-test is t= -52.090, df = 39dan p = 0,000, therefore the hypothesis is accepted. The analysis result prove that there is difference of social adjustment between the students of acceleration class program and regular class. Then, based on the mean of social adjustment between the students of acceleration class program and regular class, it can be concluded that the students’ social adjustment of regular class is higher than that of acceleration class program.
